What is the sidewalk repair process in the City of De Pere?
Each year the City inspects 1/8 of the City for required repairs to sidewalks and the Board of Public Works issues repair orders for those locations deemed to need repairs. Residents are notified of the impending repairs and provided an opportunity to repair the damaged squares themselves or with a licensed concrete worker.
How is the City divided for annual inspection?
In 2023, the sidewalk repair area is on the east side of Fox River, south of Charles Street, and west of Jordan/Ontario. See the repair area map here.
What are the City of De Pere Sidewalk Repair and Replacement Specifications?
Sidewalk repair and replacement work must follow the specifications as outlined in the City of De Pere Standard Specifications.
Who can do sidewalk/concrete repair in De Pere?
All concrete work performed in the City right-of-way must be completed by a City of De Pere licensed concrete worker. A current list of licensed concrete workers can be found here.
How does someone become a licensed Concrete Worker in De Pere?
All contractors wishing to become licensed in the City of De Pere to perform concrete work in the right-of-way must complete the City application, provide a $5,000 surety bond issued by their insurance company, and pay the application fee. Upon approval, contractors will be added to the list of licensed concrete workers available to residents. The application packet for becoming a licensed concrete worker can be found here.
