Cold temps bring changes to De Pere's Holiday Lights Display schedule

Due to anticipated cold temperatures, the walking tour portion of the Voyageur Park Holiday Lights Display, originally set for Tuesday, Dec. 12, has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Dec. 19. Visitors on this new date can still enjoy the same festive experience, featuring Santa visits, hot cocoa, and more at the Nelson Family Pavilion.

Please note that the lights will not be lit, and no events will occur on Dec. 12.

The drive-thru portion of this cherished holiday tradition remains unchanged and will continue as planned on the following dates: Dec. 13-15 and Dec. 20-24, from 5-9 pm. 

Mayor James Boyd will be present on Friday, Dec. 13 to do a ceremonial turning on of the lights.

De Pere staff appreciate the community's understanding and look forward to celebrating with everyone on these updated dates.

The Holiday Lights Display in the City of De Pere is a FREE drive-thru holiday experience. It will operate from 5 - 9 pm on the following dates:

For the first time ever, take a walk through the Holiday Lights Show and enjoy free activities hosted by the De Pere Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department! Don't forget to grab some free hot chocolate and vote for your favorite tree!

  • Visit and take pictures with Santa: 5:15 - 8 pm
  • Horse drawn carriage rides: 5:30 - 7:30 pm

Businesses/organizations interested in sponsoring trees

We will again be decorating the access road and turnaround in Voyageur Park with holiday lights and decorations.  In addition to the lights and decorations, the city will be offering the De Pere businesses and organizations an opportunity to get involved in the event by sponsoring their own holiday tree.  Last year we had approximately 3,000 cars go through and enjoy the display!

There are two options for your consideration:

In Option 1, the sponsor will pay a fee of $500.  In return, the city will provide a 6-7’ tree, secure it to the ground along the access road, decorate the tree with lights, and place a sign with spotlight next to the tree with the name of the Sponsoring Business/Organization.  The sponsor is more than welcome to further decorate the tree and area if interested.

In Option 2, the sponsor will pay a fee of $175.  In return, the city will provide a 6-7’ tree, secure it to the ground along the access road, provide a spotlight for the sign and provide power to the tree.  The sponsor agrees to decorate the tree prior to the opening day of the event and place a sign next to the tree with the name of the business/organization.  The city will notify the sponsor when the tree is available for decorating.

The Voyageur Park Holiday Light Display will begin with a walking event on December 12th, and follow with driving events on December 13th - 15th, and the 20th - 24th.  The event will run from 5 - 9 pm on all nights.
